Unlike self-improvement—which is often about aggressively chasing goals, building habits, or "fixing" yourself—ripening is about time, integration, and readiness.
Today i went through a bag with a bunch of sporting goods in it. Here's what i ended up throwing away:
An old tennis ball, 8 golf balls, (don't even have clubs anymore) a baseball from Dairy Queen, 2 plastic footballs from h.s. that cheerleaders would toss into the stands, and a cricket ball i apparently stole from my Indian roommate in college.
